There is no crying in baseball....or Politics

I have had a long month or two fighting with right wingers about the state of our Country, the direction it is heading and what to do to make things better. Well...I am exhausted, but not defeated. This post was written the morning after an Election that gave the Republican Party almost every win. Part of me just wants to listen to Bob Dylan's Basement tapes and watch cat videos....OK all of me wants to listen to Dylan and watch cat videos, but to those on my side of the issues(liberal) I want to say something positive,to lift your spirits, to show you how this is actually a positive thing.....but that would be bullshit. The Left has great ideas , and many great accomplishments -anyone else enjoy having weekends? What they do not have is the brains or guts to run on their beliefs. Most Americans (9 out of 10) want background checks to buy guns and Democrats go out and swear they are for arming 9 year olds and crazy morons just like the Republicans. People like Obamacare so the Dems denounce it or run from it. Americans want the minimum wage increased-our President proposed fighting to raise it to $10.10 an hour( that is about $1250.00 a month after taxes) and that went over like a lead balloon. I tried to educate young people here in Colorado and they had no idea. Why am I having to teach people, why aren't the Politicians I support doing it? Why are we always starting from a right wing talking point( I am talking to you Chuck Todd), and then trying to fight to get back to the middle. The frustration I feel is palpable, but hopefully the Dems will take a page from Elizabeth Warren  and ( though I would never  endorse most ofhis crazy views), Ron Paul, who famously said during a primary debate, that we were attacked on 9/11 because of blowback (look it up-I have cat videos loading), not out of jealousy for our way of life.  He was cheered for telling the truth. Please, all Democratic Politicians, try standing up for your beliefs and not running from them. Also, remember.......there is no crying in baseball.

There is nothing more enjoyable than watching a right winger talk to a crowd. They are always surprised when they realize that their ignorance is showing. A sociopath has to imitate another person's emotions because they do not have a conscience,nor do they have compassion- so they fake it. So many on the conservative side surround themselves with like minded people- other sociopaths. That often leads them to  think they are successful in hiding their lack of empathy. Then they open up in public and say horrible things( just google Louis Gohmert or Donald Trump or Michele Bachmann).  I almost forgot my favorite sociopaths, homophobes, hate merchants, liars and whores( I do mean whores ,they say stuff that they have to know is untrue for money- I am talking to you Attorney at Law Megyn Kelly ,and you Grechen Carlson who graduated Cum Laude from Stanford). Yes those wonderful representations of all things Patriotic and Christian-the "talent" at Fox news. Yup. They just keep churning out hate speech and misinformation...Oh and a little note- when I say Patriotic, I do not mean for every one-they love the America of their dreams.....White and Christian. They pine for the good ol days when the Blacks knew their place, and woman knew how to take a compliment-like " Hey cutie,you got nice lips, they would be nicer wrapped around my dick!" Ha Ha see all in good fun. Aww I am gettin a bit misty. Anyway It is all about freedom, right? Freedom of Religion-well not your religion...just mine. It is all about freedom of speech..If you even talk about gun control or Homosexuality we will send you death threats....damn commie queers.Yup, those on the right are all about the U.    S.    Constertution(snark). I says it every morning-I pledge allegiance to the flag....I think that's it.(snark)Yup, it is all about those dern amendments-especially the second amendment-A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.Well ,just ignore that first part. You gots to respect the amendments...well not the first-atheists need to shut up....and gays,liberals, Muslims woman,minorities, people against the war,those damned 47% that are freeloadin off us good christian folk, Foreigners ...aw hell everyone but good white evangelicals needs to shut up. 
      Enough sarcasm- let us take a look at yhe conservatives view of the Bill of Rights
  You got the 1st. Freedom of speech-unless we disagree, then we will misquote you on Fox, mock you and possibly a death threat or 100 to put you back in your place( I am not exaggerating).
       2nd Amendment- the right to bear arms ,their favorite Amendment and really the only one many on the right seem to know
       3rd- citizens cannot be compelled to house the military in times of peace (I think we all like that one) 
        4th-paraphrasing- no unreasonable search and seizure....Ya know like stop and frisk-The right rather likes this one because they figure it goes after minorities ( it does)....Hey little side note-you wanna good laugh? watch a right winger get stopped and frisked-they freak out.eeeh good times.
         5th-also paraphrasing(actually they are all paraphrased).The 5th talks about due process  under the law.Due process is something that is central to our Legal system,but don't tell that to a Right winger-because he know that all those men at Guantanamo are SO guilty that we do not even need to give them a trial. They also love to throw out some conjecture to get the masses on their side. that usually involves trying to scare the shit out of everyone with hyperbole, misinformation and blatant lies....Onward
        6th- I have already addressed the right's thoughts on this one....
Protects the right to a fair and speedy public trial by jury, including the rights to be notified of the accusations, to confront the accuser, to obtain witnesses and to retain counsel. Oh yeah. just put your hands over your eyes righties and go nanananana, Now go to your happy place...there she is ,Ayn Rand-listen to her and be soothed
        7th addresses civil law so I will skip that one except to say that the right is against Eminent Domain-except for when it doesn't directly effect them...Keystone XL Pipeline-creator of 35 permanent jobs , and forced eminent domain for a lot of ranchers
        8th-No excessive fines or cruel and unusual punishment. Anyone ever heard of private prisons? Google it or I will be here all month-Really. Google it.Like right now,and look at the way we are treating our (mainly poor and of color) ctizens. Onward
        9th- I am no Lawyer but I think this addresses what is often referred to as Natural Law and..well hell, look it up.It addresses rights not specifically addressed in the Constitution
        10th-Reinforces the principle of federalism by stating that the federal government possesses only those powers delegated to it by the states or the people through the Constitution. Now this one is tricky for those on the right but they got it figured out. They simply Quote it at the top of their lungs when it suits them and absolutely  ignore it when it does not . They simply get Steve Doocy on Fox and friends to make a statement posed as a question...It's easy..like" some are asking should we reaaally allow gay marriage or do we need a Federal law banning it?"
    There you have it- I haven't written in years( and years) so I may seem ,well horrible at it, but I will get better.Hell, it is a pretty low bar. If I start to really lose it , I can always run for office on the Republican ticket--MMMM, free Gummint health care for life-awesome.

      alright heres the deal.I literally lived on a mountaintop for a few years.above 10000 ft,no cell phone or computer.We drove 42 miles every few weeks to a real grocery store for supplies During this time the world kept spinning and Facebook got larger and people started to tweet and shit like that.I may as well have been living in a cave.So I lost any remaining social skills(though in my defense,I always was a bit deficient in that department) and lost all computer skills.A couple of times a year I would go on facebook and discover that people that generally would not be seen with me in my youth now wanted to be my "friend".OK i can be a live and let live kinda guy and I thought what the hell,they were no worse than me right....I often shudder when I reflect on my childhood.....iieeewww.Anyway I accept these friend requests from everyone, even people I do not remember.Fast forward a year or 4 and I get a computer and take a look at this Facebook page of mine and...freaking appalling.Who knew that many of my childhood acquaintances were now right wingers and seemed to expect me to join right in spewing hatred for our Muslim socialist atheist Rev. Wright following evil Christian fascist President who is gonna imprison all of us godfearing patriotic white folks who have never ever been helped by anyone and got everything we got by our own hands.Yessiree,They built this land on their own and were kind enough to take in all those black folks that got a free ride outta Africa and needed a handout(sshhhesh,some things never change,right?right?)Anyhew, we did this and no one else and now we are gonna suddenly be taxed to death.Forget the fact that we are screaming bloody murder about taxing inheritance while also claiming to have earned by our own hand every dime we ever got .Well I got a bit confused and more than a little pissed because I was raised with many of these people and for the life of me could not recall them ever paying our fourth grade teacher for all her fine work and i do not recall them giving the bus driver their piggy bank to pay for gas.OK OK you got my point 100 words ago but then again maybe not.Seriously,anyone who has ever met me realized pretty quickly that I am pretty freaking far to the left.Hell,did they not remember my book report that I did on Serpico(the Al Pacino movie was better than the book--rock on Paco).I did this in the second grade for fuck sake.So now I am at a place where I can do what I did at Thanksgiving with my relatives and keep my mouth shut(though one year I was forced to spend most of it in my moms car for agreeing with my Grandfather that I was gay which I am not but hey solidarity right?)or I can do one of the many things that I did growing up that often got my nose broken(when I couldn't flee ).I decided to let everyone know exactly how I feel.This?This is the end result.A man with horrible grammar who can never seem to stay on topic writing something more than a comment section on a Political website.It's OK though the average blog is viewed by about 1 person(atleast that was the # when I started this blog)I have another blog named craigs rant that will be more of a daily diary .Now i am not good at computers so I am gonna copy this and post it on craigs rant.If anyone actually ever reads craigs rant (mom that you?)the other blog is fuller rant at blog spot

SPRING SNOW

6 a.m. and i am feeling snow coming in an open window.It's may 1st and it was 64 degrees yesterday and we're snowed in today. Gotta love Colorado in the spring....or not.We live at 10000 ft.that's not a typo,we are almost at the treeline.Gotta go make coffee.This is the first thing I have written in more than 6 years so bear with me

third try is a charm

Hey.This is my third blog.I have been following politics since I was a small child.Really...seriously...I am a bit much.I TiVo NBC and ABC 's nightly news so that I can see how they spin everything differently and I try very hard to know my facts and not go for the easy option of quoting speculation or hysteria.I discuss politics with anyone that will listen(though I prefer not to just preach to the choir) and here is my point.I have a hard time finding the urge to write about my thoughts for the day week etc.I think I want feedback on the spot and I think I type like Mickey Spillane and I think that I am lazy.Soooo longwinded though.
So here is the deal.I am not an ego maniac (if anything I am a bit too tough on myself to ever post anything)but talk is cheap.I will write often.I will not take the easy shot or speculate without any facts(Fox News has that all tied up)and though I truly doubt that anyone is reading this I will not lie and will volunteer my thoughts even when they are not what I wish them to be.I have very few secrets and had a journal for years so I hope to continue to write not expecting anyone to listen.boyyy,This is so very boring ,but I wanted to start off on the right foot and make a commitment to write often.I am an idealist so I will hope that the new hopes I have for America and the world will be realized.I hope that we can end the madness of the present administration and the Republican controlled congress now that the Democrats have finally regained control.Gentleman ,please don't let us down.
